How To Make Your Skin Whiter

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 | Permalink

Do you want to find out how to make your skin whiter? Well, there are many ways to do that and we’ll go through a couple of them in this post. Most products work by reducing the production of melanin, but whilst they can make your skin tone whiter and more radiant, over use of these products can lead to products. Read these tips below to find out how to make your skin whiter!

First of all, get a good moisturizer! They contain ingredients to help with the overall health and beauty of your skin and this will in turn make your face look more radiant. They can help to reduce melanin and reduce pigmentation spots and help you to look evermore whiter than before!

Vitamin C and regular exercise combined will also help you. Vitamin C is known to reduce melanin and regular exercise will keep your body in good shape, a healthy body will lead to healthy skin and this can help you to get a whiter complexion.

Sleep is also very important. Our bodies use this time to repair dead cells and produce new cells, this means that you will have a more radiant looking skin. On top of this, make sure that you drink a lot of water, because water helps your body to flush out all the toxins contained inside. If your body is helping itself to stay healthy, so is your skin and healthier skin can really help with a lighter and whiter complexion.

how to make your skin whiterAs with every post about this topic, there are a few more things that you must do and I will remind you again in this post. First off, stay out of the sun. The sun is the number 1 cause for darker skin, so stay away from it. This doesn’t mean that you have to stay at home for the rest of your life, but it does mean that you need cover yourself up as best as you can. If you do go outside a lot, wear long loose fitting cotton clothes to help keep you cool and cover your skin all at the same time. You might think that an umbrella is only used in the rain, in fact, in most Asian countries, you see the umbrellas come out when it is sunny? And why do they do this, to hide themselves from the sun! You might feel silly, but who cares!

The other thing to do is to ensure that you wear sunscreen every time you go outside and this includes when it is a dull or overcast days because the UV rays are still coming through, although they are not as strong as sunny days.

There are many products available for whiter skin and you can safely use these too. If you are in the United States or other western countries, make sure you only buy approved products. In fact, most stores will only carry approved products, so you should be fine. But beware, as I have said before, overuse of these types of products can cause damage and lead to sensitive skin.

Finally, use natural home remedies. A lemon mixture that you put into a face mask using egg whites can work, leave it on your face for about 20 minutes and use milk to wash it off. This can also help with getting whiter and lighter skin!

How To Make Your Skin Lighter

Here I’m going to write about 5 ways that you can make your skin lighter! These are my top 5 tips about how to make your skin lighter!

1. Lemons

how to make your skin lighter

Lemons are great, they taste good with food, they can even work as a home remedy for cleaning and they are also a good for a lighter completion! Squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl and sieve it so that all the seeds and big chunks aren’t included. Then get some cotton wool and gently massage it onto your face. Leave it for about 15-20 minutes and when wash your face with water. Make sure that you do this after your normal cleaning routine. It will help clear up your face and help to make it look lighter at the same time. When you’ve finished, make sure that you use moisturizer to keep your skin nice and soft!

2. Sunscreen

Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen. Make sure you buy a high UPF like 15-20 and apply it before you go outside. Also ensure that you use it on cloudy and overcast days because the UV rays still come into contact with your skin. There are many types of sunscreen available and the cheap alternatives are often not as good. Get a good brand and one that also moisturizes your skin at the same time to ensure that your skin looks lighter and feels softer all at the same time!

3. Stay out of the sun!

This one is simple, but it needs to be said. One of the main reasons for darker skin is that you come into contact with the sun! Wear long clothes to cover yourself up, wear a hat to cover your face and if possible wear something to cover your neck as well. OK, it’s not a very sexy look in the summer, but if you’re after lighter skin then you have to make a few sacrifices! Also ensure that you follow my second tip about sunscreen!

4. Exfoliate

Always make sure that you scrub tanned and freckled skin with a good quality exfoliator. Most home remedies for lightening are nothing more than simple exfoliating treatments. Retinol products are particularly good but you need to be very careful that you don’t use too many exfoliating treatments otherwise you can develop sensitive skin.

5. Moisturize

Dry skin can actually increase melanin production and melanin is the chemical the gives color to your skin. Once your skin becomes dry it can also develop a reddish color which also isn’t good. So if you do want to make your complexion appear lighter, then you need to moisturize regularly. On top of this this you can also use a lightening lotion that is also beneficial, but make sure that you don’t buy bleach. Bleach isn’t available in most western countries, but some people have resorted to buying it online or when they go abroad, this is definitely not good for you and should be avoided at all costs.

How to lighten your skin is a question that can be answered in many ways, so where do we begin? Well the simple answer, is that we will begin at the beginning! There are many things that cause you to get darker, and the biggest one of those is exposure to the sun.

Maybe you were born with dark skin or you just want to lighten your complexion. Whatever the reason, the first thing that you want to do is protect yourself.

You do need the sun, you body uses the natural sunlight to naturally produce vitamin D, but you don’t need a lot of it. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen if you’re going outside for any length of time.

Smoking can also cause your skin to sallow in color and at the same time it can make you look older by adding wrinkles!

So, now you know what to stay away from, it’s time to answer the question, how to lighten your skin. First off, is over the counter creams. There are some very safe creams to use, but they don’t have much of a benefit. Ones containing Retinol are the best to go for.

how to lighten your skinIf you’re not happy with these over the counter products you can also get prescribed products from either your doctor or a dermatologist. Formulas that contain hydroquinone are particularly good because it contains a pigment-inhibiting compound that will lighten the skin. However, you always need to check with your doctor or dermatologist before you use them to see that they are safe.

There are even stronger procedures that might be of some help. This includes laser treatment that produces intense pulsed light and removes layers of damaged skin at very precise levels. It can also fix redness and rosacea if you are suffering of this. However, this procedure should only be carried out by trained professionals and it’s also a good idea to ensure that you check with your doctor and/or dermatologist first.

There are also specialized procedures that can be used. Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. It can peel brown lesions that come with aging and it is a very specialized procedure.

If you want to lighten large areas of your skin, either monobenzyl or hydroquinone is used to bleach dark skin, but this procedure again should only be used by advised by a medical procedure.

Always make sure you use products that are approved for sale and not cheap products that you find for sale on the internet or in other countries, they can actually darken your skin the long run and also cause other problems like thinning and aging.

The basic rules of having good skin should also be applied wherever possible, e.g. lots of sleep, lots of water, a good diet, no cigarettes and stay out of the sun as much as possible!
